ExchangeMagazine.com reports that Markham is teaming up with Enbridge Gas Distribution and York University to provide homes with solar energy systems. The announcement was made earlier this month at the 2009 Smog Summit in Canada. The project is expected to decrease heating costs by nearly 2/3.
France24.com reports that scientists are in the process of creating a new type of solar panel. These panels will be able to exert more energy, will be more user-friendly, and less expensive. This comes on the heels of dwindling economies around the world and estimations that renewable energy will decrease by nearly 38% in 2009.
