Reuters reports that silicon costs are currently between $2-$2.20 per watt while non-silicon costs are between .70-.80 per watt. Suntech Power Holdings anticipates these silicon costs should drop by $1 within the next five years which will allow product competition without government incentives.

Centredaily.com reports Electron Solar Energy has made record revenues for the first quarter. $554,039 results in a 238% increase from first quarter of 2007. The company is reaching for a goal of $2.2 million in annual sales this year due to increased demand and emerging overseas economies.
