Boeing’s Spectrolab Wins Contract for Solar Cells
The St. Louis Business Journal reports that Boeing’s Spectrolab subsidiary has contracted with Palo Alto, California-based SolFocus Inc. to provide 600,000 solar concentrator cells capable of generating more than 10 megawatts of electricity.
Spectrolab’s concentrator photovoltaic cells reportedly generate electricity more economically than conventional, flat panel photovoltaic systems. Terms of the contract were not released.
