SmartPower Recognizes Pennsylvania’s Clean Energy Plan
Market Wirer repots that SmartPower is applauding the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for committing to purchase 20% clean energy for all its energy needs. The purchase is equal to 200,000 megawatt hours of electricity. Wind will provide 42% of the energy with the rest coming from sources such as hydroelectric energy.
The increase to 20% of clean energy will prevent the emission of 951 tons of sulfur dioxide, 271 tons of nitrogen oxide and 123,410 tons of carbon dioxide.
