Applied Materials to Enter Solar Equipment Market
EE Times Europe reports that semiconductor equipment provider Applied Materials plans to enter the solar photovoltaic equipment market. The company’s material-handling technologies, processes and services support production of both thin-film and crystalline-silicon applications.
Applied Materials is working to enable PV solar cell manufacturers to expand energy plant production from the 20-to-40 megawatt level to the gigawatt level.
