AME Info reports that the threat of water shortages and the high price of oil have several countries in the Middle East turning to alternate energy sources to power desalination plants and pumping stations. Jordan’s Minister of Environment expressed his government’s commitment to alternate energy also as a way to create new businesses and employment opportunities.
