India Plans First Solar Equipment Plant
Kolkata Newsline reports that India’s first solar equipment manufacturing plant will soon be constructed at Haldia, India. The plant will be the world’s fifth — the other four located in the United States, Germany, Norway and Japan. The non-conventional energy company Bhaskar has joined with Persus, a U.S. concern to begin creating the project in October.
The company will make a total investment of Rs 3,650 crore in the plant, which will produce polysilicon, solar pumps and other equipment.
