Wisconsin Commits to Renewable Energy Strategy
WIFR.com reports that Governor Jim Doyle kicked off the Wisconsin Energy Independence Grant Program by presenting $20,000 to the Madison Area Technical College for start-up costs to develop the Northern Solar Testing and Certification Facility. The facility will help to reduce the state’s backlog in testing and approving the efficiencies of solar panels.
Under the initiative, $20 million in grants will be available for companies and researchers to develop new renewable energy technologies. The investment will leverage $240 million from private investors.
