Evergreen Solar Signs Supply Deal
The Associated Press reports that solar cell maker Evergreen Solar Inc. has signed a supply agreement that will increase solar module production capacity at its EverQ partnership to about 300 megawatts from 30 megawatts as early as 2009. In conjunction with the deal, Evergreen Solar, Q-Cells AG of Germany and Renewable Energy Corp. of Norway will become equal partners in EverQ.
Beginning in 2008, Renewable Energy Corp. will supply EverQ with 7,400 metric tons of granular polysilicon over the next seven years.
