Q-Cells, PowerLight Seal Silicon Supply Agreement
The East Bay Business Times reports that PowerLight Corp. and German company Q-Cells AG have sealed a five-year supply agreement. Q-Cells, a manufacturer of crystalline silicon solar cells, will provide PowerLight with up to $150 million worth of high-quality solar cells; with an option for PowerLight to increase that volume by an additional $60 million.
The Q-Cells/PowerLight partnership will allow Q-Cells to expand its presence in the U.S. solar market, and ensures PowerLight has the solar cells it needs to meet demand.
