Solar Supertankers Planned To Ship Water
The Courier-Mail reports that Australia is considering shipping hundreds of millions of litres of water into the country on solar powered ships to battle drought affecting cities.
The company Solar Sailor is investing tens of millions of dollars into developing electric-hybrid “Aquatankers” to be powered by solar wings. The plan is deemed to be more cost effective than building new dams, desalination plants or pipelines.
