Applied Materials Goes Solar
The Austin Business Journal reports California based company Applied Materials advanced 76 cents in the stock market yesterday thanks to the company’s move into the solar-power-equipment market. Applied Materials announced it’s move into making hardware for the solar industry earlier in April. In March the company won a contract with T-Solar S.A. to deliver Europes’s first thin film solar module production line, and is working with renewable energy investor Good Energies and NorSun AS to manufacture thin film photovoltaic modules on glass substrates.
