Nevada Solar Plant Near Completion
In Business Las Vegas reports the Nevada Solar One plant is almost ready for testing and could begin energy production as early as this month. The plant has a 300- acre solar field and features 190,000 mirrors, miles of pipes and a $12 million Swedish turbine. Unlike photovoltaic technology, Nevada Solar One uses parabolic solar collectors to create a process similar to traditional power plants. Once running, the plant will produce enough power for 48,000 Southern Nevada homes.
