B.C. Hydro Encourages Solar
Maple Ridge News reports the GVRD is asking B.C. Hydro to look for ways to make it wasier for residents to use solar and wind power. At $18,000, most residents can’t afford to install solar panel systems. One of the problems may be the current cost of electricity in B.C. is so low there are no economic incentives. However an expected increase in power rates in the next few years may encourage residents and businesses to generate their own power.
