Scrap wafer company see’s profit jump
Telegraph.co.uk reports Chinese company Renesola saw a pre-tax profit of $22.8m last year. The company recylces silicon wafer to use in solar panels for the photovoltaic industry. Instead of using raw polysilicon, Renesola sets itself aprart by processing scrap wafers that have been broken or are semi-processed. The company has over 30,000 sq feet of manufacturing space and more than 1,300 employees.
