Southern Oregon Votes Green
Oregon Live reports Southern Oregon University students voted to purchase renewable energy credits to offset the school’s use of energy from sources the contribute to global warming. Southern Oregon will be the first school in the state to purchase green tags. The students approved a $15 per term fee to pay for the credits. While less than 10 percent of the university’s students voted, an overwhelming majority of those who did favored the fee, which be in place next fall.
