Mountain View Residents Go Solar
Palo Alto Daily News reports Mountain View residents have set up a deal with Solar City to purchase solar panels at a discounted rate. 113 households signed up to buy an average of 300 square feet of solar panels from the company. The total solar system cost is $23,700, which is balanced by a state rebate of $7,290 as well as a $2,000 federal tax break. The 2.3 percent of homes using solar energy is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 5,300 tons.
