Plastic Solar Cell Efficiency Record Broken

The Post Chronicle reports U.S. scientists have pushed plastic solar cell efficiency to more than 6 percent, breaking the record. The Wake Forest University scientists achieved the efficiency by creating “nano-filaments” within light absorbing plastic. Three percent was the highest efficiency ever achieved until 2005 when he Wake Forest nanotechnology center announced they had come close to reaching 5 percent efficiency.
