New Jersey’s Solar Market
Renewable Energy Access reports the popularity of solar is growing in the U.S. and more states are adopting programs to encourage use of photovoltaics. New Jersey’s solar industry has been experiencing turmoil over the last 18 months as applications for up-front rebates have been piling up in the queue at the Board of Public Utilities. Due to the delay, solar businesses have been unable to develop new projects, causing a stall in the market. The BPU is working with the solar business community to move beyond up-front rebates, get projects in motion and put the industry back on its feet.
