Wacker and Schott team up
Euro Adhoc reports on a joint venture beween Wacker Chemie AG and Schott Solar on manufacture of silicon products. The venture will mainly produce the silicon ingots which are base materials used in the manufacture of solar cells. Each company hold a 50% stake in the venture and hope to reach a 1 gigawatt per year capacity by 2012.
