International Solar Home Competition
United Press International reports a Santa Clara University-Pacific Gas & Electric team was chosen by the U.S. Energy Department for an international competition to build a solar-powered home. PG&E has given $25,000 to SCU’s solar home construction team to design, construct and display a fully functional 650 square foot solar powered home. A team of more than 80 students from SCU’s School of Engineering has begun construction on the solar home.
