Solar system at South Middleton Farm

Written on October 26, 2007

The Sentinel reports on the new solar system at the Dickinson College organic farm. The system is 5.25 kilowatts and is grid-tied. About 90 percent of the food grown on the farm goes to the dining halls on campus and other contributions go to project SHARE food banks. According to the farm manager, the goal is to have about 50 percent of the farm’s electrical needs met by renewable energy sources.
