County Declines Tax Break For HelioVolt
Statesman.com reports Travis County commissioners declined to offer tax subsidies to Austin-based HelioVolt Corp. HelioVolt is a well-funded and highly regarded solar-materials company that is considering where to put its first factory. Founder of HelioVolt, B.J. Stanbery said, “We are extremely disappointed by the county’s failure to bring this issue of incentives to a resolution. We hope the county will reconsider this historic opportunity to support clean, renewable energy.”
