DOE Invests in Solar Research
GreenBiz.com reports Solexant wants to develop inexpensive inorganic P.V. cells that harvest more energy than their conventional counterparts. Mayaterials Inc. is attempting to obtain solar grade silicon from agricultural by-products. The U.S. Department of Energy is investing more than $800,000 into each of the two companies.
