Sustainable Industries reports the global clean energy market will be worth three times what it is today, tripling to $254.5 billion by 2017. Solar power was among the leading industries in 2007 with new solar panels creating 3,000 MW of renewable energy. The solar industry was worth $20 billion in 2007 and is expected to reach $74 billion in the next nine years.
