University Solar Project Could Reduce Electricity Costs
EETimes.com reports the U.S. Department of Energy will invest in universities to focus on the commercialization of solar cells. $13.7 million will be given to 11 universities who will partner with industry companies to assist the Solar America Initiative. The projects could reduce electricity costs from $.18 - $.23 per kwh to $.05 - $.10 per kwh by 2015.
