WMUR-9 in New Hampshire reports that a solar project is being put together by the Public Service Co. of New Hampshire in Manchester. The array will be located on the rooftop of PSNH’s Energy Park structure and will be able to create 51,300 watts of energy.

LehighValleyLive.com reports that residents of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvannia attended the opening of the town’s first solar energy project in late May. The farm contains 12 hillside solar panel. State officials are attempting to create more renewable energy sources since the state routinely spends around $30 billion a year to import energy from outside the state.

The Denver Post reports that Colorado will receive $80 million due to the federal economic recovery act. The money will allow over 6,000 residents of the state to acquire “green” jobs in the solar or wind energy markets. The Mi Casa Resource Center will train the residents for these jobs.

ToledoBlade.com reports that Toledo, Ohio is fast growing center for the solar energy industry. First Solar is close to completing their $100 million expansion as production of solar panels will increase by 800,000 per year. Xunlight Corporation is also expected to open it’s doors for business later this year. Williard and Kelsay and Calyxo USA, Inc are also taking off in the area.

DurangoHerald.com reports that Colorado-based company CarbonZero has developed a plan that would provide homes with solar systems for the cost of an average power bill. They would do so by implementing legislation that allows special districts to collect taxes for that very purpose.

DelawareOnline.com reports that the University of Delaware’s Sea Grant College will team up with Lewes Board of Public Works to contribute $6,000 to study and determine the parameters for a solar utility. The goal is to come away with specific numbers on the cost and overall scale of the project.

dBusinessNews reports that Nestlé Purina PetCare has installed a series of solar panels on top of their facility. The array contains 467 photovoltaic panels that covers over 21,000 square feet and has an output of 100 kilowatts of energy. It is the largest privately owned solar project in Colorado.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that the Committee on Energy, Infrastructure, and Transportation approved Nevada’s energy legislation. The legislation, which was under negotitation for months, includes ways for improving rooftop solar systems and allows cities to offer loans and other financial assistance for those wishing to purchase solar panels.

KingmanDailyMiner.com reports that a solar power plant is in the initial stages of planning. The plant is slated for location in Mohave County, Arizona near Red Lake. Officials say it could be among one of the largest projects of its kind and will have an output of aabout 340 megawatts of solar power.
